Globalisation involves interaction and communication on a worldwide scale. Many companies operate within an international market, and it is here that effective and clear communication is an important key to success. And it is here, therefore, that your skills in one or more other languages can make all the difference.

By combining language studies with other education, you are sure to make yourself a valuable asset to a range of employers. When you study language, you also learn about another culture, different ways of thinking and different ways of understanding the world. You can specialise in literature in a number of our courses, while our English Department offers a Master's programme in applied linguistics.

At Dalarna University, we have an international group of language teachers who work together in a cohesive academic environment to ensure the quality of our courses. From New Zealand to Iraq and Japan to Canada – and all the European countries in between – the national and linguistic diversity of our teachers enriches the education and research conducted here.

All language teaching is interactive and web-based (online) and incorporates first-class teaching technology and pedagogy that together allow for interactive seminars in real time.
