Migration, Climate and Anxiety in Literature in English

On completion of the course students will be able to:
  • problematise concepts related to the themes of migration and environment in relation to literary and cultural theories, such as risk theory, affect theory, transculturality, cosmopolitanism and climate change criticism
  • independently analyse and interpret a selection of works pertaining to literature of migration and environment in English
  • communicate and argue for, orally and in writing, their own interpretations and critical judgments of literary, as well as critical and theoretical, texts in clear and correct academic English
  • critically reflect upon and give constructive criticism to the work of their peers in written and oral discussions.

Surf on the Internet, read and send emails, use a word-processing programme (e.g. Word). Connect a camera and headphones to the computer and install a programme using instructions.

Access to a computer (Not a mini pc, tablet or similar) that is not older than three years (or equivalent) and broadband connection, at least 1 Mbit/s (not mobile broadband, because mobile broadband can vary considerably in speed).

Means of Education:

Higher rate of web-based communication where our learning platform (Learn) is a natural element of the course. Web-based meetings with sound and image where simple presentations can be held. Lectures can be broadcast live or can alternatively be made available afterwards online.
