News: Search Function 2020

The spring 2020 changes aim both to increase the speed of your search and to give you better, clearer search results. The work will be completed in stages, resulting in small changes to the interface and bigger changes in the webpage coding.

In June we improved the search results by moving some of the searchable content to separate search pages. Documents and research projects can be found in the list "Other search functions" directly beneath the search box.

Tips: How To Use the Search Function

Using our Search Function on du.se/en, you can find a number of our resources. These include webpages, programmes and courses, staff members and news. Here are some tips to make best use of our search function:

  • When you run a search and do not get the results you expect, use synonyms. The more specific the word is for the page you are searching for, the better chances you have that it appears high up in the result list.
  • If you get many search hits, you can limit the specifications of your search by using the filter. For example, you can use the feature “Education” to run a search without writing in the search word in the search box and instead simply using the filter to find what you are looking for
  • The search box on du.se/en sorts through much of what is published on our website, but not everything. Using the links in the list "Other search functions", you can find, for example, books to borrow from the library, research publications and projects, documents and course syllabi. You can find this directly beneath the search box and also at the bottom of the search page.
