Spanish II: From 1900 to the Present: Literature, Film and Society in Latin America

The goal of the course is that students will develop both their knowledge of Latin American literature and film in relation to Latin American society, as well as their ability to analyse literature and think critically.
Upon completion of the course, students shall be able to:

  • present and defend their text interpretations orally and in writing in adequate Spanish based on various literary texts
  • place the literary text within a historical and cultural context with the help of film and other materials
  • demonstrate the ability to interpret texts with a certain critical distance at a level that meets with basic literary requirements
  • demonstrate both a good understanding of some central literary concepts as well as an ability to, with the help of these, analyze Latin American literature in a well-argued way.

Access to a computer (Not a mini pc, tablet or similar) that is not older than two years (or equivalent) and broadband connection, at least 2 Mbit/s (not mobile broadband, because mobile broadband can vary considerably in speed).

Means of Education:

Higher rate of web-based communication where our learning platform (Learn) is a natural element of the course, as are web-based meetings using sound and image. Lectures can be broadcast live or can alternatively be made available afterwards online. Use more advanced programmes – for example, simulation programmes.
