Language Skills Open New Doors
Often, Italy is associated with football, culture, fashion, art, and fine cuisine. However, the country also has a number of industries where language skills in Italian are particularly useful.
As a literary language, Italian had its breakthrough in the 14th century with the great writers Dante Alighieri, Francesco Petrarca, and Giovanni Boccaccio. Italy has six Nobel Prize winners in literature: the ability to read their work in Italian is one well worth striving for.
Our Courses in Italian
The Department of Italian at Dalarna University was the first in Sweden to offer web-based (online) courses. Because they are online, you can take them no matter where you live. Teaching is in real time, and seminars involve a great deal of interaction with your teacher and other students.
All our teachers are from Italy and have doctoral degrees, which means they can offer quality instruction with a sound basis in language and literature as well as culture and history.
