At Dalarna University, we have a range of courses in the subject of Chinese that provide excellent opportunities to learn about the giant of a country, China.
When you study Chinese, you gain insight into a new culture and pave the way to new and exciting career opportunities. China has the world’s largest manufacturing economy and is the largest exporter of goods. It is also the world’s fastest-growing consumer market and the second largest importer.
With thousands of years of history, Chinese culture holds endless fascination. Whether your interests are history, architecture, music, or food, your knowledge of Mandarin will enrich your understanding of Chinese culture.
Our Courses in Chinese
We offer courses that focus specifically on Chinese for business. These might be of special interest to you if your professional role requires such competence. At slightly more advanced levels, you can immerse yourself in literature and culture. We have partnerships with several universities in China so that you can study in China as an exchange student. This will give you a unique chance to experience the language and culture in its real context.
All our courses are web-based (online), which means you can take them no matter where you are. Teaching is in real time, and seminars involve a great deal of interaction with your teacher and other students.
Many of our teachers come from China, which sets a solid foundation for a genuine language-learning experience. Courses in Chinese at Dalarna University are offered from the level of beginner to the level of bachelor.

Everyone who studies at Dalarna University has the right to apply to go on an exchange. Currently, we have five partner universities in China: Beijing Jiaotong University, Guangxi Normal University, Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Yunnan Normal University, and Beijing Normal University. We also have two partner universities in Taiwan: Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages and Tunghai University.

Degree
Dalarna University has the right to award a Degree of Bachelor with Chinese as the main field of study. You can also complete a Bachelor of Arts in Teacher Education, Secondary Education for School Years 7-9 or Upper-Secondary School in Chinese.

Higher rate of web-based communication where our learning platform (Learn/Canvas) is a natural element of the course. Web-based meetings with sound and image where simple presentations can be held. Lectures can be broadcast live or can alternatively be made available afterwards online.
