Chinese: Bachelor’s Degree Thesis

Starts week 3, 2027

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • systematically explain a selected research area in Chinese literature, linguistics, cultural studies, Chinese society, or learning/teaching Chinese as a second language
  • define a question within the selected research area
  • design a plan that can be completed independently within a set timeframe
  • carry out a study with an appropriate choice of research method and theoretical application
  • give relevant consideration to research ethics
  • present and argue for their results in writing using correct academic language
  • complete a thesis, in Chinese or English, using correct formalities
  • present and argue for their study at a high level of communicative competence
  • provide constructive criticism on the work of others and deal with the constructive criticism of others in an objective manner.
