Railway transportation are more and more used in Sweden and in other countries.
Trains are used both to transport freight and passengers. For customers,
reliability is important. One important aspect of reliability is how trains follow
their timetable. Since the limited amount of ressources (tracks, . . . ), timetables
are precomputed in advance in order to be feasible. But, like for all complex systems,
some unexpected events occur and may disturb the predefined schedule.
The dispatcher has to in realtime choose which train can run and on which track
it can run. Obviously, when some problems occur (failure, track not usablefor
an amount of time, delays,. . . ), the choice of the dispatcher becomes impor
