Dementia Diseases, Diagnostics and Treatment from a Nursing Perspective

After the course the student shall be able to:

  • Analyze and evaluate the significance of signs and symptoms of dementia for human physical, mental and psychological situations
  • Deepen and evaluate how the diagnosis process of dementia affects human psychological and social situations
  • Analyze and evaluate preventive measures for behavioral and mental symptoms in dementia
  • Plan for caring interventions for persons with dementia and critically reflect on the nurse‘s responsibility in such work
  • Plan for caring interventions for persons with dementia in relation to national guidelines for the care of people with dementia

Means of Education:

Higher rate of web-based communication where our learning platform (Learn/Canvas) is a natural element of the course. Web-based meetings with sound and image where simple presentations can be held. Lectures can be broadcast live or can alternatively be made available afterwards online.
