Digitalisation and Society

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • provide an account of central theoretical sociological concepts and how they can be connected to issues of digitalisation and social change
  • demonstrate basic knowledge of how the internet, social media and digitalisation have been analysed in sociology
  • independently problematise and critically relate to the central concepts in the field
  • discuss basic knowledge of and independently talk about sociology research on issues relating to the relationship between digital media, social change and power.
