Pay your tuition fee

How to find your invoice, pay your tuition fee, and understand payment deadlines and what happens after payment.

Your tuition fee invoice is available in Ladok, the national student records system used by universities in Sweden.

  • You will receive a notification when your invoice is available
  • Dalarna University does not send invoices by email or post
  • You must log in to Ladok to access your invoice

Log in at: student.ladok.se

If you are not currently studying at Dalarna University, use your UniversityAdmissions.se account to log in to Ladok.

After logging in to Ladok, open the menu and select “Tuition fees” to find your invoice.

Payment method and currency

The tuition fee must be paid by bank transfer, and you must include your reference number from your invoice.

Your tuition fee invoice is issued in SEK (Swedish kronor). If your bank is unable to make a payment in SEK, you may pay in EUR or USD instead. The funds will be converted to SEK by Dalarna University’s bank.

If you pay in EUR or USD, you should add approximately 2% to ensure that the full amount in SEK is received.

Include your reference number

Your reference number is shown on your invoice in Ladok

Important conditions regarding tuition-fee payments

  • Do not use third-party payment services such as Wise or Revolut, as this may complicate refunds
  • If another person pays on your behalf, any refund will be sent to the account from which the payment was made

Your payment deadline is shown on your invoice in Ladok. You should pay your tuition fee as soon as possible.

Your admission remains conditional in Ladok until your tuition fee has been paid.

If you are a newly admitted student who requires a residence permit, the Swedish Migration Agency will not process your application until your tuition fee has been paid. You should therefore pay your tuition fee as soon as possible.

Once your payment has been received and registered:

  • Your payment is recorded in Ladok
  • The Swedish Migration Agency is informed of your payment via Ladok

If you are a newly admitted student who requires a residence permit to study in Sweden, you should now apply for a residence permit.

International bank transfers usually take approximately 7–10 days to be received and registered.

You will not receive a new admissions letter after your tuition-fee is paid.

How do I find my invoice?

Log in to Ladok at student.ladok.se open the menu and select “Tuition fees” to find your invoice.

When do I need to pay my tuition fee?

Your payment deadline is shown on your invoice in Ladok. You should pay as soon as possible to avoid delays.

Can I pay my tuition fee in installments?

We strongly recommend that you pay the semester fee in a single payment.

You may make partial payments, but the full tuition fee must be paid before you can begin your studies and, if applicable, apply for a residence permit.

For this reason, you should ensure that the full amount is paid well in advance of the semester start.

Do I need to pay the full tuition fee for the entire programme at once?

No. Tuition fees are paid per semester according to your invoice.

How do I know that my tuition fee payment has been received?

Once your payment has been received, it is recorded in Ladok, where you can see that your tuition fee has been paid.

You do not need to send proof of payment to the Swedish Migration Agency, as they are informed through Ladok.

How do scholarships affect tuition fees?

If you are awarded a Swedish Institute scholarship, you do not need to pay any tuition fees.

Choose Dalarna First scholarships are deducted from your first semester invoice.

What if I am waiting for a scholarship or sponsorship decision?

You are strongly recommended to pay your tuition fee as soon as possible, even if you are waiting for a scholarship decision or financial sponsorship.

Choose Dalarna First scholarships are decided before invoices are issued and are already deducted from your first semester invoice.

Waiting to pay may reduce the time available to receive a residence permit.

What happens if I pay and later receive a Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals (SISGP)?

If you are awarded a Swedish Institute scholarship after paying your tuition fee, you will receive a full refund of your payment.
No administrative fee is deducted from the refunded tuition-fee in this case.

Can someone else pay my tuition fee?

Yes. However, any refund will be sent to the account from which the payment was made.

How long does it take for my payment to be registered?

International bank transfers usually take 7–10 days.

What happens if I forget to include my reference number?

Your payment cannot be matched to you, which may delay processing.

What happens if I miss the payment deadline?

If you do not pay before the deadline, you may lose your place in the programme or course.

Always contact study@du.se if you have concerns about paying by the deadline.

Will I receive an unconditional admissions letter after paying the tuition-fee?

No. Once you have paid your tuition fee, the tuition fee condition on your admission is marked as fulfilled in Ladok.

This is not reflected on your Notification of Selection Results, and you will not receive an updated document. The Swedish Migration Agency is informed of your payment through Ladok.
