For more information about the course, such as schedule etc. click on “visit the course room“ on the right. (available no later than one month before the start of the course)

Within the course there are online meetings that take place in a virtual classroom at set times. Likewise, the course is based on independent work with tasks that are distributed every two weeks.

Within the course, students approach web-based communication from different perspectives and relate this to different research directions within language and new media. In the course, various web-based text types are studied with a particular focus on the aspect of writing/speaking and what impact it has on interaction, e.g. on discussion forums and social media. Within the framework of the course, the student carries out an empirical study on his own corpus and applies a relevant method and makes use of research literature.

The course is examined through written assignments and active participation in oral discussions, as well as an examining written final assignment based on an independent empirical investigation. The teaching takes place in German.
