On successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
· outline the main features of the history of the German language
· reflect on and theorise about the development of the German language and its dialectal variation
· explain the representation and function of German-language literature in different historical periods
· explain the relationship between linguistic, literary, and societal development
· apply methods of literary analysis and describe literary-historical genres and concepts.
The course includes mandatory online meetings that take place in a virtual classroom at set times. (There are no physical gatherings.) The course is also based on independent work with assignments that are handed out in the course room.
Mandatory online meetings will be held according to the schedule.
Requirements for Computer Skills and Computer Capacity
Literature lists are published at the latest one month ahead of the course start date.
