Intercultural Literature Studies: Theory and Method

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • critically discuss intercultural perspectives on the literary research process
  • evaluate and, in detail, critically examine theory and method in previous research in a defined area of comparative literature
  • independently search for and compile a comprehensive literature review for this area
  • write a nuanced and detailed research plan for a feasible project in the field
  • apply current conventions in comparative literature for documentation and citation
  • in a constructive manner, analyse and discuss the academic work of others.
