Description
The majority of patients that are transported by emergency ambulance in Sweden are delivered to hospital emergency departments, and there is a need to reduce this number as it has been shown that only a minority of patients need emergency care. Based on a scientific model for patients with non-urgent medical conditions, a project was initiated as a postdoctoral study in the Swedish county of Dalarna. The objective of the study was to examine at an early stage patients with non-urgent medical conditions and their assessment for the current level of care. The study designs are: retrospective observation study and case-control study.
