Description
In Sweden, the Discrimination Act 2008: 567, aims to counteract discrimination and promote equal rights and opportunities. In practice, this means that the organizations need to work for diversity, but also with inclusion. When organizations work for diversity, they often work with the recruitment process and ensure, for example, gender and ethnicity not to constitute an obstacle to employment. However, the fact that an organization achieves diversity does not automatically mean that the employees feel included. The purpose of the research project is to make a knowledge overview that provides a systematic and thematic overview of the research on
inclusive working life and identify knowledge gaps and future research that is relevant to Swedish work organizations and work places. The study is conducted as a systematic literature study with literature search in both English and Nordic databases. The project will use predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria and all articles included in the final report are reviewed by quality and only research with good quality is included. By gathering knowledge in the area inclusive working life and outlining important future research issues and research areas, this project can work towards three of the 17 global development goals, no. 5. Gender equality, no. 8. Uniform working conditions (and economic growth) and 10. Reduced inequality. The project is summarized in a report of a maximum of 50 pages and knowledge from the project is disseminated through easily accessible text and webinars on relevant webpages and social media. The project is original in three ways: 1) we seek
literature on inclusive work life based on the seven statutory grounds for discrimination that exist in Sweden 2) the study focuses on empirical studies where "how" and "effects" are examined and 3) future research needs are proposed from a Swedish perspective on work organizations and workplaces.
