Description
Determining treatment outcome and follow-up of patients with fluctuations in motor performance, such as in advanced Parkinson´s disease is difficult in practice. In previous work by the research group, a test battery for assessing patient state in advanced Parkinson´s disease, consisting of self assessments and motor tests (tapping and spiral drawing) has been developed for a hand computer with touch screen in a telemedicine setting.

The research project E-MOTIONS is about developing, applying and evaluating IT-based methods for supporting treatment and evaluation of treatments for Parkinson´s disease with motor fluctuations. This includes further development of the test battery system and an analysis of its cost-benefit. Expected results are an increased ability to early find accurate individual treatment and less need to experiment with different dosages.
