We are now seeking a University Lecturer in the subject of Computer Science for a fixed-term position at the Data and Information Management Division.

The Data and Information Management Division runs programmes in computer science with a focus on IT security, systems development, design and web development, including network communication, UX, UI, testing, business development, agile project methods and data analysis, etc.
The programmes within Data and Information Management are in a phase of expansion, with strong applicant numbers and high demand for our courses. Through your own initiatives, parts of the position can be developed and adapted to your areas of interest as we continue to expand. Dalarna University collaborates with industry in the region, which forms part of shaping the education and research of the future.
Duties and responsibilities
The role includes teaching course modules within our Computer Science programmes. Teaching is primarily conducted on site at Campus Borlänge, with some elements delivered remotely via Zoom. You are expected—and will have the opportunity—to contribute your experience and expertise in shaping the future workforce and researchers within digitalised industries. As a member of our teaching team, you are expected to value and support teamwork.

Required qualifications
For this position, you must have:

Documented pedagogical competence.

A completed bachelor’s degree or professional degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent, and competence relevant to the content of the position.

Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
Meritorious qualifications
Experience of the following is an advantage:

Teaching, as well as consultancy and/or operational work related to data and information management.

Competence in one of the following areas:

Networks and Security or Systems Development, Design and Web Development.

Networks and Security
-
Data communications and networking.

Network and systems administration in Linux and/or Windows environments.Network security and protection of IT infrastructure.

Operations, maintenance and security in on-premises and cloud-based IT infrastructure environments.

Systems Development, Design and Web Development
-
Web development with a focus on front-end and component-based design.
-
CSS and/or JavaScript frameworks.
-
Web design and interface design.
-
Interaction design and user-centred design.

To succeed in the role, you also need:
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
- The ability to work independently and in a structured manner, and to take responsibility for planning, delivering and developing teaching.
- The ability to communicate clearly and engagingly, both verbally and in writing.
The role also requires a strong sense of responsibility and initiative: you take ownership, act proactively to contribute to the development and improvement of the organisation, and are interested in translating your subject expertise and professional experience into an educational context.

Additional information
This position is a fixed-term substitute appointment for one year. The expected start date is as soon as possible, by agreement with the selected candidate.
