Tuition fee refunds

Guidance on applying for a refund, how refunds work, and what conditions apply.

In most cases, tuition fees can be refunded if you have not registered for your courses in Ladok.

If a refund is granted, an administrative fee of 5,000 SEK is deducted.

Applications for refunds must be made in writing using the refund application form on the Dalarna University website.

If a refund is granted:

  • An administrative fee of 5,000 SEK is deducted from the refunded amount
  • No interest is paid on refunded amounts
  • Refunds are made in SEK. If you paid in another currency, the amount you receive may differ from the amount you originally paid due to exchange rate changes

A refund is normally granted if you have not registered for your courses in Ladok.

A refund is also granted if a course or programme is cancelled by Dalarna University. In this case, no administrative fee is charged.

A refund is not granted in the following cases:

  • If you have registered and then decide not to continue your studies
  • If you have been suspended or expelled due to disciplinary action
  • If you have been granted leave from or deferment of your studies
  • If you have provided misleading or false information to the university
  • If your fee status changes after you have registered for a course

When is the deadline to apply for a refund?

There is no set deadline to apply for a refund.
