Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • plan, conduct, and evaluate performance analyses within a chosen sport,
  • critically evaluate and interpret test and research results when applying performance and capacity analyses,
  • explain the principles of long-term training planning and peak performance preparation,
  • create and present a training plan for a specific target group based on performance and/or capacity analyses,
  • evaluate and critically review training plans for different target groups.

Course Content

The course covers the planning and implementation of various methods for analysing technical, tactical, and/or physiological variables, with a focus on their impact on athletic performance.
Based on performance analyses, particular emphasis is placed on students designing test protocols to conduct capacity analyses of a group or individuals in a selected sport. Drawing from performance and capacity analyses, students will create and present a long-term training plan. The course also includes critical evaluation and review of both self-designed and peer-designed training plans.

Assessment

  • Oral presentations.
  • Individual written project work.

Grades

The grading scale used for the final course grade is U–VG.

Grades are reported as follows:

  • Applied performance- and capacity analysis - 7.5 Credits | U–VG
  • Training periodisation - 7.5 Credits | U–VG

Entry Requirements

  • Applied Exercise Physiology, 7,5 credits and Training Principles and Practice, 7,5 credits

Other Information

This course cannot be counted towards the same degree along with courses that have equivalent content.
