Learning outcomes for the course
The overall goal of the thesis project work is that students will be able to conduct and report on an academic investigation. This has its foundation in students’ application of their knowledge and skills in the main field of study, Informatics. After completing the course, students will be able to:
Knowledge and understanding
- demonstrate in-depth or broadened knowledge within the main field of study
- demonstrate insight into relevant scientific methods
Skills and abilities
- demonstrate and formulate the aim, problem and research question(s) for the chosen area
- carry out a literature study to describe the current state of knowledge within the selected area
- select, justify and apply relevant scientific methods
- summarise and present results
- review and reflect on academic work
- complete the academic investigation within the given timeframe
Judgement and approach
- consider and handle any ethical aspects of the investigation
- reflect on their own results related to aim, problem description and research question(s)
