  • carry out a literature study to describe the current state of knowledge within the selected area
  • select, justify and apply relevant scientific methods
  • summarise and present results
  • review and reflect on academic work
  • complete the academic investigation within the given timeframe

Judgement and approach

  • consider and handle any ethical aspects of the investigation
  • reflect on their own results related to aim, problem description and research question(s)

Course Content

The degree project is conducted as an academic investigation that builds on knowledge and skills students have acquired during their education. The work is characterised by critical thinking and the use of proven scientific methods.

The degree project can be carried out either as an academic project in collaboration with an external partner (business, public sector, incl. university or association) that has a relevant problem or as an in-depth literature study. Targeting the chosen area of investigation, the student will formulate the aim, problem description and research question(s), and search for and consider relevant literature, (where applicable) select data collection method(s) and collect data accordingly, select methods of analysis, and reflect on the obtained results and the methods used.
The work will be compiled in the form of a report and presented at a seminar.
