Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • explain what determines the thermal indoor climate
  • explain the hygiene requirements for the indoor environment and air quality
  • describe the design of and material used in water and sewage systems in buildings
  • describe the function of and material used in different types of heating and cooling systems
  • calculate the effect and energy requirements for heating and hot water
  • describe the function of and material used in different types of ventilation systems
  • read installation blueprints 
  • explain the norms governing installations in buildings
  • explain  the historical development of installation systems in buildings
