The course covers: the basic laws and concepts of thermodynamic, state variables, first and second laws of thermodynamics, forms of energy and energy transformation, energy balances, ideal gas law, ideal and real gases, enthalpy, heat capacity and heat transfer.
Also covered in the course is: equilibrium conditions and modeling of phases and phase transitions, vapor and steam technology, heat transfer and heat exchangers, heat pumps and cooling machines, basics of fluid dynamics, measurement of pressure and flow, as well as calculation of pressure drop.
