Learning outcomes for the course

After a successful completion of the course the student will be able to:
  • demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of different Islamic strands, the relationship between them and in relation to surrounding societies
  • demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of relevant theories on the roles of Islam in history and society in Africa
  • with a competent application of relevant theories independently compare and evaluate different processes, mechanisms and strategies within various strands of Islam in Africa
  • communicate relevant theories and knowledge within the field.
