The French-Speaking World: Literature, Culture and Translation

On completion of the course, the students shall, in French, be able to:

  • apply inter- and transcultural perspectives on literature from the French-speaking world
  • in their own text analyse and discuss how literature from the French-speaking world meets readers from France
  • in their own text analyse and discuss how literature from the French-speaking world in translated form meets readers from other linguistic areas
  • apply key perspectives in translation theory as well as reflect on how social and cultural contexts affect translation practices.

Extra information:

The course includes mandatory online meetings, which take place in a virtual classroom at specific times. No physical meetings on campus are included.
