Support - reading, listening, writing

Here you can find tips and tools to support you in your studies, whether you want to listen to course literature, get help with the writing process or find new ways to understand texts. The aim is to make studying easier with your individual needs in mind.

Support - reading and listening

Legimus

If you have a disability that makes it difficult for you to read printed text, you can access the talking book service Legimus and all the books available there. Legimus is a large library of textbooks that includes talking books, e-books and Braille. You can listen to the books on your computer or phone.

For access to Legimus, contact the university's library and tell them about your reading impairment. You do not need to have received a decision from NAIS about study support.

Students can contact the university library and have course books read that are not yet available in Legimus. If you have articles, PDFs or other course material that are not textbooks, you can use a talking book program.

Writing support

SkrivaText

SkrivaText is a program that helps you with your writing. It can also check for serious spelling and grammar errors. With SkrivaText, you can also develop the quality of your texts through the program's built-in analysis function. As additional support, SkrivaText contains several dictionaries that you can use to look up and get explanations about different words.

The program is an excellent tool for people who have dyslexia or other reading and writing difficulties. SkrivaText catches spelling mistakes and inaccuracies in sentence structures that Microsoft Word cannot do.

Language Support

Contact Language Support at the university to sharpen your academic language and writing skills at any time during your studies. This service offers language guidance and workshops to all students, regardless of background, needs or level of study. Both new and experienced students can receive support with their academic writing.

The guide provides the opportunity to get feedback on, for example, the following:

  • structure and flow in the text
  • linguistic correctness and style
  • reference management
