Support for students with a disability

During your exchange, you may be able to retain some of the support that you receive at Dalarna University, such as distance-based mentoring. If you are considering going on an exchange, contact the disability coordinator at Dalarna University.

Inclusion support – Erasmus+

For Erasmus+ exchanges, students who have fewer opportunities can receive inclusion support to cover costs. This applies to both students and staff members. The term fewer opportunities refers to factors that can prevent you from taking part in an Erasmus activity, such as the following:

  • a disability
  • fewer qualifications
  • constraints within the education system
  • cultural and language factors
  • social and economic factors
  • discrimination
  • geographical factors

The cost of the following may be covered: adapted housing; an accompanying assistant; childcare; transport of equipment/medication; and a trip/visit to prepare for the exchange. These are just examples.

Inclusion supplement

Students with permanent or long-term disabilities, including disabilities caused by physical, mental or neuropsychiatric illness, are entitled to a special inclusion supplement with Erasmus+ exchanges and internships.

This supplement is for students with long-term disabilities or illnesses. Financial support can be granted in cases of, for example, note-taking; sign language interpretation; psychotherapy; transport to the university/internship location/social activities; the extra costs for adapted housing; the trip/visit to prepare for the exchange; and extra baggage for equipment.

Additional grant for students with minor children (Erasmus)

If you have minor children, you can receive a top-up for your Erasmus+ exchange period. You can receive this regardless of whether or not your child accompanies you on the exchange. This information is to be indicated in your exchange application. You must include personal documentation (personbevis, or similar document) from the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) along with your application.

Supplement amounts:

  • Studies or internship: inclusion supplement is 250 €/month
  • Blended mobility lasting less than 14 days: one-time payment of 100 €
  • Blended mobility lasting more than 14 days: one-time payment of 150 €
