Description

GränsENERGI is a unique Swedish-Norwegian collaboration that will explore and implement new technical solutions and business models to create local energy communities. Energy communities involve connecting buildings in close proximity to each other in a system to produce, share, store and recycle energy. The project will use renewable energy, energy storage and smart control systems to optimize energy use in both residential and industrial areas. Through cross-border cooperation between Swedish and Norwegian actors, the project will contribute to increased energy access, especially in areas with capacity shortages in the electricity grid. The project focuses on sustainability, innovation and knowledge exchange to strengthen both society and industry in the region.

In the project GränsENERGI the aim is to:

  • Explore and implement new technical solutions and business models to create local energy communities in both residential and industrial areas.
  • Map and identify needs and opportunities to increase energy access, especially in areas with capacity shortages in the electricity grid.
  • Strengthen and deepen cross-border collaboration to share knowledge, technology and innovations between Sweden and Norway.
