Healthcare Preparedness for Climate Change
Anna Anåker, Senior Lecturer in Nursing, conducts research on the health impacts of climate change and how healthcare needs to adapt to a changing climate. She can answer questions about how healthcare services can prepare for heatwaves, wildfires, air pollution and changing patterns of disease, among other issues, as well as how climate-related events affect people’s health and healthcare preparedness.
Sexual Health and Women’s Rights in Crises and War
Kerstin Erlandsson, Professor of Sexual, Reproductive and Perinatal Health, can answer questions about how women’s health and rights are affected by crises and war. Her expertise includes pregnancy, childbirth and newborn care, contraception and abortion care. She also works on issues related to mental health and sexual and reproductive health within Sweden’s total defence system and has international experience, including collaborations in Ukraine, Ethiopia, Bangladesh and Somalia.
Societal Emergency Preparedness, Responsibilities and Priorities
Lena Nerhagen, Senior Lecturer in Economics, conducts research in areas including socioeconomic analysis, societal risks, policy instruments and organisation. She can answer questions about how society’s resources can be prioritised in emergency preparedness, how responsibilities are divided among different public-sector actors, and the importance of cooperation between central government, regions, municipalities, businesses and civil society. She can also answer questions about how socioeconomic analyses can be used to inform decisions on measures and investments in emergency preparedness.
Social Trust and Anxiety in Times of Crisis
Ali Abdelzadeh, Associate Professor of Political Science, conducts research on social trust and how it is affected by crises. He can answer questions about how people’s trust in one another changes during societal crises and the role that trust plays in people’s anxiety and their ability to cope with crises. In a study of the COVID-19 pandemic, he and other researchers examined how social trust among people in Sweden was affected by concerns about health, the economy and society’s resources.
Security, Threats and Ongoing Deadly Violence
Johan Leopoldsson, Security Manager at Dalarna University, can answer questions about the university’s security work and preparedness, including its preventive work relating to threats and violence and ongoing deadly violence (Swedish: pågående dödligt våld, PDV). He has a background as a police officer and security coordinator for Ludvika Municipality.
