Senior Lecturer Tobias Heldt Awarded Prize for Article

Tobias Heldt, researcher in Economics, received the prize for his article in the category "Outstanding Paper Award". Written with co-author Anders Nordvall of Mittuniversitet, the article looks at and analyses the Peace & Love Music Festival.

Researcher at Dalarna University's CeTLer - the Centre for Tourism and Leisure Research - Tobias Tobias Heldt accepting the awardHeldt accepted the Emerald litetati award for outstanding paper 2018 for the article he wrote in the International Journal of Event and Festival Management entitled "Understanding Hallmark Failure: a Case Study of a Swedish Music Festival".

"This type of research is required so as to increase understanding for the mechanisms that affect the development of new events and what can be done so that an event can develop and grow and most importantly survive over time," explains Tobias Heldt.

Tobias Heldt's main research focus is tourism and events. Through his research, he tries to determine the behaviour of visitors and the way this behaviour affects the economy. His previous research has looked at nature tourism, bicycle tourism and sustainable tourist travel.

"I am currently completing a project about the equestrian industry where we, together with representatives from the industry, have produced a business intelligence model to describe effects at the national and regional levels for Sweden," says Tobias Heldt.
