Deluge of Prizes for Mediehuset

Media students from Dalarna University came home with no fewer than seven prizes from the recent Novemberfestivalen in Trollhättan, Sweden.

The Novemberfestivalen can well be described as the Swedish Championships in short films and is one of the most important arenas for young Swedish filmmakers. The recent wins by students from the Media Department left no doubt that there is a great deal of talent housed at Dalarna University. Of the winning entries, four will now advance to other festivals - two of which are Göteborgs Filmfestival and Nordisk Ungdoms Filmfestival.

The winners were:

  • Philip Coroiu and Jacob Gustin (Editors): film "Brännpunkt".
  • Ola Sandberg (music): film "Brännpunkt".
  • Philip Coroiu and Jacob Gustin (Tungvikt): film "Brännpunkt".
  • Nordisk Ungdoms Filmfestival selected the film "Brännpunkt" to proceed to the 2019 festival in Tromsö.
  • Live at Heart selected the film "Där finns inte jag" by Lama Alshehaby for showing at its 2019 festival.
  • Göteborgs Filmfestival selected the film "Där finns inte jag" by Lama Alshehaby for showing at its 2019 festival.
  • Amandus selected the film "Där finns inte jag" by Lama Alshehaby for showing at its 2019 festival in Lillehammer.
