Summary in English

The overall goal is for students to develop the knowledge about children‘s language development, Swedish language variety and children‘s literature that is required for teaching the subject of Swedish in preschool and in grades 1-3. A further overall aim of the course is that students will develop both knowledge about relevant policy documents as well as the linguistic ability to express themselves in speech and writing.
Students will develop theoretical knowledge and understanding of language variation based on different perspectives as well as theoretical and didactic knowledge about the factors in place for a child‘s linguistic and speech development and language use. Students will also develop theoretical and didactic knowledge about what children‘s and young adult literature means for the development of a child‘s and young adult‘s identity.
