Summary in English

In this course, literacy is studied from a multilingual perspective. The theoretical approach is ethnolinguistic, which means that the meaning, function and borders of literacy in different linguistic and cultural contexts are the focus. Questions related to the use of literacy in multilingual settings, in particular in multimodal contexts, are examined. Also, questions about the relation between literacy and power as well as literacy and education are examined. Within the framework of the course, the student carries out a small indepth study in a well defined area of relevance for the course.
