Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • explain theories and models in the field of motor control and learning,
  • plan, implement, and evaluate training programmes for motor skill development in a sport,
  • compare and critically assess how training programmes for motor skill development can be adapted to different groups of athletes.

Course Content

The course covers various theories and models that equip coaches with the knowledge to explain and analyse motor learning processes in sports. A significant part of the course is dedicated to students developing their didactic competence in motor skill training within a chosen sport. The course also includes comparing different training programmes for motor skill development and critically assessing how these are adapted to different groups of athletes.

Assessment

  • Individual written exam
  • Individual written and oral presentation of project work

Grades

The grading scale used for the final course grade is U–VG.

Grades are reported as follows:

  • Theories for motor control and learning - 3 Credits | U–G
  • Project motor skill training - 4.5 Credits | U–VG

This course cannot be counted towards the same degree along with courses that have equivalent content.
