Learning outcomes for the course

After completing the course, the student will be able to:

Knowledge and understanding

  • Explain the role of the map as a tool for description and analysis of tourism-related phenomena
  • Describe the basic concepts of geodesy, projections and geographic coordinate systems
  • Show in-depth understanding of the functionality and application of GIS software

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrate the ability to carry out the necessary processing and calculations of statistics in the available databases and furthermore visualize them into thematic maps using GIS software
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and the ability to apply the function of technical equipment and software through practical labs

Judgement and approach

  • Critically assess cartographically presented information and evaluate the merits and shortcomings of the technical equipment and the functions of software .
