Learning outcomes for the course

The course’s goal is that students develop a basic knowledge of the Spanish language‘s grammatical structures and vocabulary and the ability to communicate in written Spanish.

Upon completing the course students will be able to:

  • read and write different types of texts such as newspaper articles, news and factual texts
  • describe the basics of grammar
  • demonstrate a basic knowledge of grammatical and lexical features in various Spanish-speaking areas, and use a variety of Spanish vocabulary in their own texts
  • argue for or against a particular position in writing and through writing their own text production show good application of Spanish basic grammar
  • explain grammatical aspects of the Spanish language and demonstrate an understanding of the structural differences between the Spanish and Swedish languages
  • demonstrate a basic knowledge of presentation technique and apply it in written expression.
