Regional and Economic Planning

After completing the course, students will be able to:

  • Describe basic concepts and theories from both economic geography and regional planning, and be able to relate these to societal changes.
  • Describe the content, processes and regulations of Swedish regional planning, and their significance from a community-building perspective.
  • Critically reflect on different planning situations and existing interests, positions and discourses in regional and economic planning.
  • Obtain, compile, analyse and present relevant information for economic and regional planning in writing using GIS and images.
  • Apply knowledge of regional and economic planning in practical planning work using methodology and planning tools.
