Learning outcomes for the course
On completion of the course, students shall be able to:
- describe the main periods of Russian film history from the 1980s to the present day
- describe major names and genres from Russian cinema during the various periods
- analyse a selection of Russian films, their historical meaning and their cultural influence during the various periods
- discuss how main epochs of late Soviet and post-Soviet history are reflected in Russian cinema.
