Learning outcomes for the course
On completion of the course, students will be able to:
- give an account of and apply basic conventions concerning the rhetoric, structure and genres of fiction
- reflect on how different strategies and processes for creative writing affect their own writing and the qualities of written texts
- use linguistic tools during the writing process to improve the quality of fiction narratives
- perform basic analyses of the thematic and stylistic qualities of fiction narratives
- give and make use of constructive criticism in the process of revising and improving a work of fiction.
