Course content
This course focuses on evidence-based maternal and newborn care from a global perspective. Participants will develop the ability to identify, evaluate and manage emergency conditions and complications during pregnancy and childbirth affecting both women and newborns.
The course also addresses comprehensive sexual and reproductive health and rights in the promotion of health, considering socioeconomic, cultural, gender, climate and sustainability perspectives. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based care methods, the application of relevant pedagogical approaches, and advocating for the integration of evidence into clinical practice.
Should you apply?
This course is intended for professionals working with maternal and newborn health and who wish to strengthen their knowledge and skills in preventing, identifying, and managing complications during pregnancy and childbirth.
Applicants should hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an equivalent qualification. The course is conducted in English; therefore, applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency equivalent to English 6 in the Swedish upper-secondary school system (for example, IELTS, TOEFL, or another internationally recognised test at an equivalent level).
How are applicants selected?
Selection is based on tuition fee status. A number of places are reserved for students required to pay tuition fees and a number of places are reserved for students exempt from tuition fees
Mandatory online meetings will be held according to the schedule.
