Learning outcomes for the course
Knowledge and understanding
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- demonstrate knowledge about and critically evaluate theories and concepts with relevance to leadership within social work
- demonstrate and critically evaluate conditions and obstacles in relation to operational management within social work
- demonstrate and critically evaluate, within a social work context, theories and concepts with relevance to collaboration and communication within and between organisations.
Abilities and capabilities
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- apply theories about and research on organisations, leadership and operational management in relation to the context of social work
- identify, reflect upon and evaluate the significance of collaboration and communication within and between organisations in relation to the context of social work, nationally and internationally
- identify opportunities for sustainable operational management within social work using current research and theories.
Values and attitudes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- evaluate the relevance of operational management in social work in a changing world
- evaluate the significance of equal treatment and diversity in leadership
