After completion of the course the student shall be able to:

  • determine a well defined specific area of research within the field of African Studies
  • present an overview of relevant and contemporary research associated with the chosen area of research
  • present a preliminary objective and analytical questions for a future master thesis/research paper
  • present a second draft research overview.

  • African Studies: Education and Change in African Societies, 8 credits, African Studies: The Dynamics of African Societies, 12 credits, African Studies: Religion and Politics in African Societies, 9 credits and African Studies: Developing the Research Proposal, 1 credit, at Second cycle level 1, or equivalent knowledge
