Learning outcomes for the course
On completion of the course the student should be able to:
- Discuss different perspectives on how and why the concept of freedom has played and is playing an important role in modern Arabic literature
- analyse in which way freedom as a concept has been expressed in different genres
- compare how freedom has been used stylistically in different genres and by different writers
- select a number of authors who have the quest for freedom as a central theme in their works and argue well for the choice made.
