Learning outcomes for the course

The overall goal of the course is for the participant to develop knowledge, skills and approaches to work professionally as a teacher in higher education within his/her subject matter and to participate in the development of higher education.

After completion of the course, the course participant will be able to:

  • discuss and distinguish between different perspectives of knowledge and learning
  • discuss their professional experience of teaching forms and methods, and incorporate theoretical reasoning into their own teaching
  • demonstrate familiarity with physical and digital learning environments, and reflect on how different environments affect teaching and learning
  • plan, implement and assess teaching in a course in their own subject area
  • discuss the adaptation of teaching and learning environments from the perspectives of inclusion and accessibility
  • explain and critically review regulations and support for students with disabilities
  • explain at a general level the content of legal text and local regulations that relate to university education and discuss how these can be applied in teaching
  • discuss the opportunities for student involvement in the design of a specific component of the course
