Continued university efforts to adapt to the covid-19 situation mean that students are asked to continue studying from home. The only access to university buildings will be to keycard holders.

Up to and including January 24, 2021, all doors to university buildings and facilities will be locked to restrict access by the general public. Students and staff will continue to have access using their keycards.

Anastasiia An is this year’s winner of the award for the best thesis on the theme sustainable development. This is the third year the award has been handed out to a student at Dalarna University and as with previous years, the winner will receive a travel grant of 10 000 sek.

On December 4, everyone at Dalarna University is welcome to wear their uniform to work. Introduced by the Swedish Home Guard (Hemvärnet), the day is intended to draw attention to the Swedish Home Guard and increase interest in its work and activities.

Recently, the Public Health Agency of Sweden tightened recommendations for Dalarna, and this has resulted in several decisions at the university level. Students are recommended to study from home where possible, and while university premises and facilities remain open, access is limited.

The Swedish Public Health Agency and Region Dalarna have decided that additional and more far-reaching measures to prevent transmission of infection are to apply in Dalarna. In view of this, the University Management are working on what needs to be done to live up to the recommendations.
