The Academic Ceremony includes the inauguration of new professors and conferment of doctoral degrees. Associate professors, doctors, doctoral graduates at another university, visiting professors, excellent and qualified teachers will be honoured.
Registered Guests
Detailed information about the ceremony, the banquet and times will be sent to the e-mail address you provided when you registered: it will be sent approximately 1.5 weeks before the ceremony. See some frequently asked questions under Practical Information below.

Welcome to the professors' inaugural lectures that will be held in the library, Campus Falun, on 20 March (no pre-registration required).

Ceremony
Kulturhuset tio14, Teatergatan 3, Falun
The ceremony starts at 17.00 and you must take your seat by no later than 16.45. Note, if you have registered to be part of the procession, the line-up is at 16.30 in the designated place in Kulturhuset tio14. The ceremony begins with the installation of the Vice-Chancellor. Buses will transfer attendees from venue for the ceremony and the venue for the banquet.
Banquet and Dance
Magasinet, Tullkammaregatan 12, Falun
The ceremony itself will be followed by a three-course banquet and dancing at Magasinet in Falun approx. 19.00.

Professors, doctors, the Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, promoters, marshals (who walk in the procession) must wear formal dress at the ceremony and banquet, i.e. a long dress/top with a long skirt in any colour or tailcoat with a white waistcoat and a white bow tie/rosette as well as black socks and black patent leather shoes (alternatively folk costume (folkdräkt), uniform).
Other guests at the ceremony and banquet are to wear formal dress or dark suits.
Formal attire: tailcoat (with a white waistcoat and white bow tie, black socks and black shoes), folk costume (folkdräkt), uniform, full-length evening dress or ball gown. Accompanying guests can have formal attire, dress code dark suit is also fine.
Dark suit: A full dark suit (black, dark blue or dark grey). Dress, trouser suit, skirt or trousers with a matching top. The length of the skirt or trousers should be below the knee/calf length.

Invitations to the academic ceremony were sent out by email in mid-December (2024).
The ceremony is for invited guests and employees. Participation at the ceremony is free of charge, but pre-registration is required. The ceremony is expected to take about two hours. Private photography during the ceremony is allowed from your respective seating place.
A banquet with entertainment followed by dancing will be held after the ceremony for participants and invited guests.
Employees at Dalarna University and one guest can attend the banquet for a subsidised cover fee (SEK 500).
Guests need to organise their own travel and accommodation unless other information has been provided. Free bus transfer is available between Borlänge and the ceremony; bus transfer will also be provided between the ceremony venue and the banquet venue in Falun.
