Prerequisites

  • Admitted to Postgraduate Programme in Dementia Care and must have completed Evidence based practice and leadership, 7,5 credits – second level and Health Care and Social Care for Persons with Dementia, 7,5 credits – second level

Summary in English

After completing the course, the student shall be able to:

  • plan and implement complex nursing work based on a professional approach, science, and evidence-based practice in collaboration with other professional groups and in accordance with applicable laws, constitutions and safety regulations
  • estimate, assess and evaluate nursing needs and measures in current national quality records
  • identify and assess nursing needs for people with dementia based on prevention, health promotion and sustainable care that is person centered 
  • initiate and implement quality development based on relevant scientific, social and ethical aspects in interprofessional collaboration
  • demonstrate pedagogical ability in conjunction with quality development work
  • critically review his or her own professional and empathetic approaches, as well as those of others, in his or her professional conduct, and be able to evaluate the need for additional knowledge as well as the need for professional development.
