Summary in English
This course presents Swedish from a cross-linguistic perspective. It examines questions related to language typology, such as theories about markedness and linguistic universals. Different features of Swedish are contrasted with languages from other langauge families, where in particular such languages that are often represented among second-language speakers of Swedish are highlighted. Different linguistic aspects are illustrated such as phonological, morphological, syntactic, semantic, pragmatic as well as discursive. In the framework of the course, the student carries out a small contrastive analysis of Swedish in relation to another language.
