Learning Outcomes
The course‘s overall objective is that the student should be able to carry out an independent scientific study related to a teaching subject for which the education is intended. The student is expected to contribute to knowledge development within a defined educational field.
After completing the course, students shall be able to:
- demonstrate in-depth knowledge within a defined educational field and insight into current research and development work within the field,
- formulate an educational problem with related research questions,
- demonstrate ability to independently collect, systematize, problematize and evaluate empirical material as well as critically review own and others research results,
- conduct independent scientific work with research connection, relevant methodology and argumentation based on scientific basis,
- make research-ethical conciderations,
- demonstrate the ability to present and argue for their own research results, with high demands on written and oral communication skills, and to relate to scientific criticism in a factual and constructive manner,
- demonstrate ability to analyze, value and discuss the scientific work of others by pointing out in terms of clear constructive response both benefits as well as shortcomings,
- contribute to knowledge development within a defined educational field of relevance to the profession.
